MMB is able to handle a variety of outside work in addition to large and custom mold bases. We have strategically invested in machinery that is beneficial to our mold base production but is also capable of handling other machining tasks. It is this diversity that keeps us competitive. From our Tarus 4 Axis STS gundrill, Mitsubishi DX 612 abrasive CNC waterjet to our large capacity horizontal and vertical milling centers, we are ready and able to handle any project you may have.

Mac-Mold Base's quality control program is guided by the inspection department, which scrutinizes each phase of your job, monitoring and ensuring critical tolerances, proper assembly, clean-up, components, and crating.

Engineering Capabilities

Mac-Mold Base uses MasterCAM, AutoCAD, and Cadkey formats. If your file does not respond to one of these formats, please send them via IGES formats. All files transferred to Mac-Mold Base should correspond to your project number followed by a "P" for Preliminary, or an "F" for Final. In addition, for all larger files please use our FTP site listed below.

Our team consists of experienced engineers paired with a highly trained and motivated group of CNC Machine operators, backed up by our inspection department that is precise and trained to assemble quality mold bases.

Shipping and Receiving

At MMB we have vans and flatbeds to handle local and interstate deliveries and pick ups. We can also arrange trucking to anywhere in the United States using your preferred shipping company. Please be advised that we do not have a loading dock but can make special arrangements if that is the best way for you to ship your material.

Increased Capacity

In July 2011 we opened Plant 3, adding a new horizontal milling center and a 20 ton bridge crane. In 2012 we installed another new horizontal milling center.

We can execute...

We can execute the most challenging tolerances, up to .0002":

• Sizes of plates and/or mold bases: Up to 90" x 165" (2286mm x 4191mm)
• Weights: Mac Mold can handle up to 20-ton capacity. With special arrangements, we are capable of processing up to 30 ton capacity.
• Some of the components we machine for are: ejector pins, slides, sprue puller pins and bushings, core pins, ejector sleeves, step pins, springs and slider locks.
• Most work is done in-house, and we have excellent vendor supply of plate steel and alloys to insure on-budget and on-time shipping of your job. We do CNC milling, plate grinding and gundrilling. (See our gundrilling page for our New Tarus 4 axis CNC Deep Hole Gundrill)
• Each mold base is completely assembled and fully inspected before shipping, insuring a fast, simple and problem free mold base.
